Sports Goggles

We have written to the clubs and posted on-line previously about the safety needs of children who wear glasses, original post can be found here .  As soccer is a physical game and there is often a very real chance that players will be hit on the head or face with a football.  It is extremely important that children who wear glasses are protected.

As of this year no players are allowed on field with glasses they must wear Sports Goggles with polycarbonate lenses.  We do appreciate this is an extra cost but the safety of all our players are paramount and broken glasses can be a danger to the wearer and to others on pitch.

We have been working with Bennett Optical in Johnstown Shopping Centre Navan and they have managed to source sports goggles and are happy to retail them complete with polycarbonate for €110.
